, April 2012: No breakfest was available during my stay, however, there are many options close by. Overall a good stay. Thank you.

, April 2012: I had a very good stay in Magdalen - thank you. Lovely view from this room too. Note: no breakfast was offered for this accomodation, but there is no 'box' for 'not applicable

, April 2012: We had a really nice stay! Great location, really nice reception. We highly recommend this experience!

, April 2012: Bed was comfortable. Good basic/ no-frills accomodation. Convenenient shop downstairs. Close to all colleges and a short walk from train and bus station.

, April 2012: Porters were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The room itself wasn't wonderful: I stayed in the Waynflete building, and it was noisy (beside a main road) and poorly decorated, and I wasn't happy that the duvet was very clean. I had no access to drinking water, and had to buy my own and bring it in. I shared a bathroom with approx. 8 people. That said, I paid very little for it by Oxford standards, and was happy that I got value for money. The friendly staff certainly helped.

, März 2012: Students accommodation, good for price and for short stay, breakfast not available.

, Januar 2012: It was a good experience with pleasant staff and an excellent breakfast. For me it was just a bit on the pricey side, but I acknowledge that VAT does not help

, Oktober 2011: Friendly service, peaceful, an excellent location, a beautiful view over the river; the room was clean and very comfortable and had all the necessities; great value for money, I would definitely stay again

, Oktober 2011: Good place to stay for a few nights. Everything was o.k.

, September 2011: I really enjoyed my stay and hope to return. Staying at Magdalen was a unique and special experience, far removed from the usual business hotels that I have to stay in for work. I felt privileged!

, September 2011: The standard of the room was average but I expected this as it is student accommodation. However the college is a great place to stay with beautiful buildings and grounds. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

, September 2011: This was a unique lodging experience, which I wholeheartedly recommend. Image staying at Hogwarts, without all the wizards! Honestly, if you are staying in Oxford and dont mind with having to share a bathroom or the absence of a television, then Magdalen's accommodations will be perfect.

, September 2011: Clean room, friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. We will return.

, September 2011: A very enjoyable stay. The best way to visit oxford. Staff very welcoming

, September 2011: My husband and I stayed in a Waynflete Building twin room for eight nights during a research trip. The room was no-frills but clean and bright, and the beds were very comfortable. Tea and Nescafe were provided in the room (no breakfast - but that makes the room very affordable. There is a supermarket right next door, too, and a mini-fridge in the room). The porters and scouts were consistently kind and helpful, and the college grounds were a lovely place to take evening walks.

, September 2011: What an incredible experience, walking through the deer park in the morning as the mist rose overs the spires of Oxford.

, September 2011: good price/value; very nice atmosphere

, August 2011: This was in the Wayneflete (modern) building, no breakfast. The accommodations were more comfortable and larger than I expected, though it is of course a dorm room. Bed quite comfy, the room has a view of trees and the high street and the river near the bridge. Small fridge and hot kettle in room means one can go down to the Sainsbury's which is right next to the entrance and feed oneself cheaply. The porters and everyone were enormously helpful and friendly. Magdalen gardens and deer park are very relaxing.

, August 2011: rooms serviced every day pleasent polite staff cannot coment on breakfast as room only

, Juli 2011: Excellent - easy to book, centrally located, friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious accommodation, the extras provided (toiletries and local guide book) were greatly appreciated. Highly recommended.

, April 2011: Lovely room, very quiet, very central, budget price, porters were lovely. You can look around the college gardens for free as opposed to paying £4.50 to go in. Also you can use the student bar in the old part of the college.

, April 2011: A very quiet and comfortable room. Great to be so close to the centre of the town. Help from the porters was superb and all in all a very enjoyable stay. We'd certainly book again. Many thanks. (Please note breakfast not included so have not marked this option)

, Oktober 2010: Pauline was a very helpful and gracious person who assisted me greatly, especially at the beginning and end of my stay. The porters also accommodated my early check in request and kept an eye out for mail for me, which I appreciated.

, September 2010: Room was good and comfortable (no wash basin in room though). Good location. Service was alright.

, September 2010: Good location, excellent showers, quiet with decent view. Close to lots of good food and entertainment, and good location for city centre access. Broadband internet is appreciated. No self-catering facilities is a pain if you are staying more than a day or two as food here can be expensive. I bought a camping bowl and utensils to have cereal in my room (there is a fridge in the room). Survey should have an option to say N/A for standard of breakfast (none provided). I did laundry, and it was a bit pricey to buy access to the machines (£2 for the card), and you need to bring your own detergent.

, September 2010: Our building was a bit shabby, but the warmth and the smiles from the porter's lounge make our stay a very enjoyable one. Thank you Andy for your assistance and the grand tour of the tower! Magdalen College is really a beautiful place to visit.

, September 2010: Easy, well-priced way to stay in Oxford; friendly staff and clean facilities

, September 2010: Good location and a lovely college to stay in!

, September 2010: Expecially excellent experience is that your porter is open 24h/day and helps guests to book taxi. I would suggest that you put such service on your general information for room guest (e.g. in the room book).

, September 2010: Excellent service from the staff in the porters' lodge, showing me the room and very fast check-in and check-out.

, September 2010: Breakfast was not included in my tariff, hence my answer for that question. The experience of using University Rooms was excellent. I was most particularly impressed by the porters at Magdalen, who were kind, helpful and fun. I would definitely recommend both the online service, and the college.

, September 2010: Porters at Magdalen were very helpful and room was just what we wanted. Basic student room with shared bathroom but all very clean and a great price for such a central location.

, September 2010: A student room so not hotel standard but clean and comfortable none the less. Clean towels and a selection of toiletries awaited me. Tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge in the room. Shared bathroom facilities- separate toilet and washbasin cubicles and lockable showers, all clean and fully functional with plenty of hot water. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment. All in all, an enjoyable stay. I would use University Rooms again.

, September 2010: The Waynflete Building is a tired 1960s hall of residence without modern facilities such as en-suites. The only luxuries were a small fridge in the room, and internet access via ethernet. The furnishings are nowhere near hotel standard; the rooms and corridors seem very bare. But it's clean and convenient, and if you're looking for bargain basement accommodation in central Oxford, the price is right. It was extremely quiet both during week and weekend when I visited in early September. Just don't invite anyone you want to impress.

, September 2010: The room was a basic undergraduate room without breakfast, exactly as advertised. The porters were very helpful and even sent someone with me to find the room. The room and whole set-up represented very good value for money.

, September 2010: I was particularly struck with the degree of care and concern shown by the porters. They were all extremely helpful; and in the case of a fellow visitor who was ill, very thoughtful. Location was brilliant. Loved my time there.

, August 2010: I had a wonderful stay which was mainly due to the very friendly staff who could not have been more helpful. Thank you. i will recommend you to my friends.

, August 2010: We had a very warm welcome from the porter on arrival and although we arrived over the lunch period between 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm when there was a shortage of staff, every effort was made to try to locate someone to show us to our accommodation. However, a cup of tea on the terrace of the Magdalen cafe made a very pleasant and welcome diversion during our short wait. The porters were very helpful and it was lovely to hear that they could oversee our bags on the day of departure, if required, in order for us to have as full a stay in Oxford as possible. The room was basic but spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was a lovely surprise to find towels and toiletries, which we had not expected, but which next time will make our bags much lighter! We were also very pleased to find tea and coffee making facilities. As we were staying at Magdalen breakfast was not included, which we knew when booking. On arrival the showers and two toilets on our floor (the room was not en suite) were spotless but unfortunately by the evening the toilets were virtually unusable and we had to use the ones on the floor below. It was great to find a small guide book (really useful) and pamphlets and information about the area and local cafes and restaurants. All in all (apart from the problem with the toilets) we were pleased with the accommodation (and the warm welcome) and would definitely consider college rooms again, although we would definitely go en suite next time, if that is possible. The showers were absolutely fine, with lots of hot water. On the whole, a positive experience and one which we would recommend to friends and family.

, August 2010: Thanks me and my whole family enjoyed the Oxford experience!

, August 2010: An excellent visit, the only criticism being that one of the beds was not very comfortable. Much enjoyed being part of the college.

, August 2010: Very comfortable and quiet room, great location, very friendly helpful staff, had best sleep ever there!!! The oxford handbook was a great bonus too!

, August 2010: I had a very nice stay, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only comment is that I wasn't informed that the accommodations were co-ed and didn't find out until two young men walked in to use the bathroom in their underwear while I was at the sink brushing my teeth. I think they were just as surprised as I was and, from that point on, we all made a conscious effort to close the doors to bathroom to alert others that there was someone in the bathroom or the shower. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

, August 2010: Very happy with the overall experience, especially since I got to explore the college grounds for free and outside tour hours. :)

, August 2010: I would've put "excellent" on service, I am not sure if it was a service issue, but I couldn't get proper reception for wifi in the room. It worked elsewhere. The people I dealt with and the room cleaning and all that, were excellent.

, August 2010: It would have been perfect, if there had been no noise from High Street...

, Juli 2010: all people re very nice!!!

, Juli 2010: Great place to sleep and share a very clean shower with excellent water pressure and hot water. The beds were clean and comfortable with very soft sheets and comforters and the check in staff were helpful and friendly. Also, small amenities in the room such as a coffee pot and cookies, tea, coffee, etc., were neat. Great location and seemed very safe. Excellent value for the money.

, Juli 2010: We've enjoyed our stay tremendously. Thank you so much. The porter was most helpfull and kind.

, Juli 2010: All the staff was marvelous

, Juli 2010: Rooms are clean and well-maintained. The shared bathrooms are what you would expect of dorm bathrooms, a bit grimmy around the edges, but generally clean. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay.

, Juli 2010: It was lovely! I stayed in the separate block and found all the staff lovely and helpful. Thanks so much!

, Juli 2010: very nice people serving, gorgeous surroundings, the only neg remarque is the water flow in the shower on the 5 floor. I understand that the pressure is low, but just a little more water, please. thanks for a nice stay

, Juli 2010: Yes very good, would like to stay again and if you have more rooms in other colleges at £35 a night then please arrange. Cheapness of room a big selling point for me

, Juli 2010: I loved my stay in Oxford, thanks!

, Juli 2010: Great staff, and a safe and comfortable environment. Will book again and recommend to friends.

, Juli 2010: the room was comfortable, clean and the service was superb, someone came and made the bed every day and the oxford guide book left on the desk was a treasure! The check in staff/porter was very helpful and a young boy even helped me with my bags to my room! --Washroom was clean during the week but terribly messy and smelly on the weekend - Friday night, a lot of partying visiting students and A LOT of noise! but again, during the week it was wonderfully quiet and serene

, Juli 2010: Basic accommodation at a basic price. Good large room with plenty of storage space, a desk for working and internet access.
